Satoko Fujii Trio

Satoko Fujii – piano
Mark Dresser – bass
Jim Black – drums

gOne of the most inventive and exciting trio discs Ifve heard in quite some time.h - Marc Medwin, Bagatellen.com

gThis is truly the result of telepathic communication and impressive self-expressionc the music is filled with thrill and joy of creation.  It is emotional and humorous, which is also pleasing.h - Hiraku Aoki, Asahi Newspaper

Hailed as one of the most consistently creative and exciting groups in jazz today, this piano trio is truly different from the traditional jazz piano trio. Sometimes, the piano sounds like percussion, the bass sounds like violin and the drums play color. Then they may switch roles and the music sounds entirely different than it did before. Since forming in 1996, they have toured Japan, Europe, and North America, and performed in Seoul.

They have released seven CDs: Looking Out Of The Window (1997),  Kitsune-bi (1999), Toward, eTO WESTf (2000), Junction (2001),  Bell The Cat (2002),  Illusion Suite (2004),  and Trace A River (2008).
